GeoNight 2024

Svibno 18A, SI- 1433 Radeče, Slovenija

Open to the Public

Mednarodna »Noč geografije«, ki jo spodbujata EUGEO in IGU, bo 14. aprila 2023.

V Svibnem bomo obeležili Noč geografije s krajšim tematskim predavanjem o pomenu geografije v razvojnem in prostorskem načrtovanju v Sloveniji in prikazali izbrane primere uporabe sodobnih orodij geografskih informacijskih sistemov v kmetijstvu in dediščini.

PRESS RELEASE:

Many many thanks to the enthusiastic and engaged audiance who attended Pristava Počakovo's 2nd Annual International GeoNight.  It was a very interesting and informative evening with active discussions and lively audiance participation.

Special thanks for the informative data-filled presentations.  The audiance was especially interested by the expert presentation on an innovative closed-loop renewable energy solution that has real potential for our local area.

There were very interesting and active conversations about current local challenges. Several viable solutions were proposed to address local leadership issues, as well as practical technical solutions.

There was a consensus for taking positive steps to move local solutions forward, including promising technical, legal, financing and political options.

It was disappointing that no local officials heavily involved in pushing top-down, outside for-profit investor projects, were a total "no-show" for this grassroots, bottom-up discussion driven by local non-profit entrepreneurs and economic development professionals.

Stay tuned for the follow up discussions that will explore our intent and ability and create a plan to implement new, sustainable, economically viable energy solutions that respect our natural and cultural assets, while proving real benefits to local residents.
